BACnet IPs

BACnet IP
BACnet/IP provides high-speed Ethernet communication, scalable network design, advanced security features, and easier troubleshooting and integration with IT infrastructure. It supports complex and large-scale building automation systems and allows for remote monitoring and real-time alerts.
The EMpro acts as BACnet IP server and opens port 47808 for communication with any BACnet IP clients. This port is opened by default but can be changed by the user. To couple multiple IP-subnetworks, BACnet Broadcast Management Devices (BBMD) are needed. In subnetworks where no BBMD is installed the foreign device registration supported by EMpro can be used. A foreign device in BACnet is a device located in a different IP subnet than the BACnet/IP network it wants to join, and its settings enable it to register ob a BBMD to participate in BACnet broadcasts and communication across subnet boundaries.
By default BACnet IP communication is active on EMpro.
If BACnet MS/TP communication is activated, BACnet IP connection gets interrupted.
